Preparing to shoot a fashion editorial for Vogue’s March issue takes incredible inspiration, detailed planning, and attention to each of the variables at play. Contributing Editor Tabitha Simmons gives us a glimpse of what goes into pitching the looks and the selection process for casting, creative, and, of course, the outfits.

After the creative concept has been approved, we move to set for a two-day photo shoot. From prep and set-up to lights, camera, action, we watch Contributing Editor Tabitha Simmons control the chaos in order to create something truly beautiful in every shot.

As the photos start to come in from the shoot, Art Director Alberto Orta sorts and preps them for review by Editor in Chief Anna Wintour. Once the images that will make it into the March book are selected, they are added to a storyboarding wall to join the rest of the stories that have all made the final cut.
