Cathryne Czubek is an award-winning director and producer known for crafting emotionally rich, visually polished stories — with a focus on women’s lives, offbeat characters, and the beauty of human contradictions.

Her work spans documentary and branded content, always aiming to make people feel something real — whether it’s joyful, quiet, messy, funny, or all of the above. She’s drawn to projects that blend substance with style and entertain while they resonate.

Her digital series SCREW YOU CANCER for Condé Nast Entertainment was the first of its kind to receive a prestigious Television Academy Honor for raising awareness around social issues. She’s also the director of two acclaimed feature documentaries:

  • A GIRL AND A GUN (First Run Features), which premiered at DOC NYC and had a national theatrical run before streaming on Netflix.

  • ONCE UPON A TIME IN UGANDA (Drafthouse Films, YellowVeil Pictures, BlueFinch Releasing), a New York Times Critics Pick and international festival favorite that takes you on a wild ride into the world of Uganda’s gonzo DIY action filmmakers.

In 2010, she founded Salted Media, through which she has led branded storytelling and editorial campaigns for Vogue, Glamour, Teen Vogue, Elle, GQ, Vanity Fair, Bon Appétit, Verizon, Porsche, Patrón, Pandora, Tampax, and more.

Cathryne is also the co-founder of Wonderview Studios — a creative studio focused on immersive storytelling, emotional design, and cinematic experiences that stay with you. Wonderview brings a collaborative, thoughtful process to every project, working closely with clients and brand teams from the first conversation to the final moment. Whether crafting a film, a branded campaign, or a sensory, in-person experience, Wonderview builds emotional worlds that audiences don’t just watch — they feel from the inside out.

Her work has been supported and recognized by the Television Academy, Chicken & Egg Pictures, NYWIFT, NYSCA, Fork Films, Paley Center, IFP, and the Toronto Documentary Forum.

She holds a BA in International Relations from NYU and an MFA in Photography and Video from the School of Visual Arts — and brings a mix of curiosity, style, and emotional precision to every story she tells.
